What to Expect at the Barrington Brew Fest
The Barrington Brew Fest is a relaxed afternoon of craft beer, good food, and community spirit. Guests wander among tasting stations where regional and local breweries pour a wide range of styles, from crisp lagers and hoppy IPAs to rich stouts and seasonal ales. Each pour is a chance to try something new and talk with the people who make it.
General admission guests enjoy the festival grounds, live entertainment, and plenty of space to gather with friends. VIP Tent ticket holders get all of that plus a quieter, more comfortable place to enjoy the day. The early 2:15 pm entry means VIP guests can settle in, choose a seat, and begin sampling before the main crowd arrives.
Tasting Tips for a Great Day
A little planning makes the most of any brew festival. Eat before you arrive and take advantage of the food offered at the event. Drink water between samples, and pace yourself so you can enjoy every pour. Tasting portions are small by design, so you can try many different brews without overdoing it.
- Start with lighter beers such as pilsners and wheat ales, then move on to bolder styles.
- Ask the brewers about their ingredients and brewing methods. They are happy to share.
- Bring a valid ID, since all guests must be of legal drinking age.
- Arrange a designated driver, taxi, or rideshare for the trip home.
Food and Comfort in the VIP Tent
The VIP Tent is built around good food and comfort. Special food offerings are available only to VIP ticket holders, and the single ticket price covers them. You can skip the long lines and spend more of your afternoon relaxing and chatting with friends.
The separate seating area gives you a place to rest between samples, and the private portalet adds convenience that many guests appreciate on a busy festival day. Pair these with the special sampling of more than 10 premium brews, and the VIP Tent becomes a comfortable base for the whole event. If you give your size preference when you buy, your T-shirt will be waiting at the gate.
Supporting Older Adults in the Barrington Community
Every ticket sold helps the Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA) serve older neighbors and their families. Programs such as Memory Cafe, the "A Day Out" respite program, and Meals with Wheels give seniors social connection, safe care, and nutritious meals. They also give family caregivers time to rest, which can make an enormous difference for those caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's, dementia, or Parkinson's.
Support and education groups and other services for family caregivers help people feel less alone and better prepared for the challenges of caregiving. By joining the Brew Fest, you enjoy a fun afternoon and also help keep these services available. To learn more about BACOA's work or find ways to get involved beyond the festival, visit bacoa.org.
